The Chief Guest, Dr. Jayashree K. Phadnis, Principal, Vivekanand College, Mumbai, presented the awards to the Best Marketing Minds in Academics all over the country at the Samsika® Academy of Brand Management™. Mr. Jagdeep Kapoor, Chairman & Managing Director, Samsika® Marketing Consultants felicitated the winners.

This award was instituted eight years ago in a pioneering effort for the first time in India. This award aims at encouraging and increasing the involvement of the budding marketing students in the field of marketing.

The best marketing students, for the Eighth Annual All India Samsika® Award for Academic Excellence in Marketing ™ was chosen by the Principal of the participating Institute, and each award winner was awarded the following:¬-
1 A cash award of Rs. 1500
2 A special certificate from Samsika® Academy of Brand Management™ (SAB™)

The students of second year BMS course were eligible to participate in the Samsika Award for Academic Excellence in Marketing™ contest. The winners were felicitated at an award ceremony held on 16 March, 2008.

A total of fourteen BMS students won the Eighth Annual All India Samsika® Award for Academic Excellence in Marketing™ for the year 2007-2008 from various institutes.

Since each institute's best marketing student was awarded, the competition was healthy and fair. Each recipient appreciated the 'First Time in India' effort by Samsika, to recognize and award the marketing students.

Next year, the Samsika award would be presented to the best marketing students from each Institute on 15 February, 2009.
